Caslano is a municipality in the district Magliasina in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Their territory extends as a peninsula in Lake Lugano, the highest point of the peninsula is the Monte Caslano with a height of 526 m above sea level. M.

The community lives mainly from tourism. Caslano has a beautiful old village on Lake Lugano. The village is connected by the Lugano - Ponte Tresa Railway to public transport. The municipal area is a golf course stretches; but the entrance is located in the neighboring municipality Magliaso. The communities Ponte Tresa, Caslano and Magliaso are heavily engineered and grow into one another, that you can hardly recognize the town limits.

Commercial and industrial

Chocolat Alprose in Caslano has its headquarters and producing chocolate with about 100 employees for the retail trade. The company was founded under the name Titlis - Chocolat in 1957 and belongs to the Stollwerck Group, which was sold by Barry Callebaut, the Belgian barony 2011.
