Casper [ kæspɚ ], with around 52,000 inhabitants ( 2005) after the capital Cheyenne is the second largest city in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The city is the county seat of Natrona County and is located on the North Platte River at the foot of Casper Mountain. Economic priorities of Casper are the extraction and refining of oil and the large-scale cattle and sheep.

12 km west of the city lies the Natrona County International Airport.
