The Cassibile (Greek Κακύπαρις ) is a river in Sicily.

Course

It rises near Palazzolo Acreide on Monte Porcari in the Iblei at an altitude of about 567 m and passes through the province of Syracuse. It empties into the Mediterranean Sea at Avola

In its course, the river created a nearly 10 km long and up to 250 m deep canyon, the Cava Grande. The ravine northwest of the estuary is characterized by waterfalls and small lakes. It was declared a nature reserve Riserva naturale Orientata Cassibile.
