Cássio Motta

Cássio Motta ( born February 22, 1960 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian tennis player.

Life

Motta was a professional tennis player in 1979 and was able to win on the side of his compatriot Carlos Kirmayr in Madrid his first doubles title on the ATP World Tour in the same year. By 1983, both played together and won three more doubles titles, they were five more times in a final. After Motta was successful with changing partners. Overall, he was able to win ten doubles titles during his career. His only singles final he reached in 1987 at a tournament in Guarujá, where he defeated his doubles partner Luiz Mattar, with whom he won the tournament in doubles. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached position 48 in the singles and in 1983 with position four in a double 1986.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round at the French Open and Wimbledon. In the doubles competition he came twice before the semi-finals of the French Open.
