Cassius (Band)
Cassius is a French French house duo. It consists of Zdar ( Philippe Cerboneschi ) and Boom Bass ( Hubert Blanc- Francard ) and was founded in 1990.
Career
Zdar and Boom Bass started working together in 1988 when they produced the French hip - hop singer MC Solaar. In early 1990, they founded the first project La Funk Mob. In the same year, together with Etienne de Crécy was the motor bass project, which turned toward the two of electronic music.
In 1996, she created under the final band name Cassius her first published abroad single " Foxxy ". The track had great success, and there was even remixes of Daft Punk and Air, with whom Cassius - among other acts such as Stardust or Modjo - the then popular nascent French disco sound impressed. In 1999, the first mainstream single " Cassius 1999 " from the eponymous album, which was released by the Virgin sub-label Astralwerks, was disengaged. In 2002 the highly successful album " Au Rêve " has been released, among other things, the single " I'm A Woman" contained in collaboration with Jocelyn Brown. "The Sound of Violence ", recorded with Steve Edwards, even reached # 1 on the U.S. dance charts. In addition, Zdar and Boom Bass worked with the Wu -Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah and Leroy Burgess. After it was published in late summer 2006, the single " Toop Toop ", followed in the autumn of the same year the third album " 15 Again " on which the song " eyewater " the American R & B-Sänger/-Produzent Pharrell Williams had a guest appearance. Zdar published in September 2007 along with Eyerer and Chopstick a single called Make My Day ( Haunting ), which experienced very positive response from the clubs.
