Castel Rocchero
Castel Rocchero is a municipality with 387 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Asti (AT ), Region Piedmont.
Geography
The municipality covers an area of five square kilometers. The neighboring municipalities are Acqui Terme, Alice Bel Colle, Castel Boglione, Castelletto Molina, Fontanile and Montabone.
Specialty
In Castel Rocchero vines for the Dolcetto d' Asti, a red wine are grown with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. The Muscat grape for the Asti Spumante, a sweet DOCG sparkling wine with a low alcohol content and for still wine Moscato d' Asti is also grown here. From the grape variety of the sweet Brachetto Brachetto d'Acqui sparkling wine is produced. In Castel Rocchero also vines of Barbera for the Barbera d'Asti, a DOCG red wine are grown with status.
