Castel San Lorenzo

Castel San Lorenzo is a town with 2565 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Salerno in the Campania region.

Geography

The neighboring municipalities are Aquara, Felitto and Roccadaspide. Other districts are Madonna della Stella and Ponte Calore. The town borders the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano and is part of the Comunità Montana del Calore Salernitano.

Culinary

The cuisine of Castel San Lorenzo is particularly distinguished by its rusticity and the use of regional products. In contrast to the Neapolitan cuisine, they remained largely free of the history of French influences and is based on the rather cheap food of the peasants, such as fish, vegetables and wheat.
