Castelcivita

Castelcivita is a town with 1790 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Salerno in the Campania region. The place is located in the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano and is part of the Comunità Montana Alburni.

Geography

The town lies on the north - western slope of the Alburni. The neighboring municipalities are Alba Ella, Altavilla Silentina, Aquara, Controne, Ottati, Postiglione, Roccadaspide and Sicignano degli Alburni. The districts are Cosentini and Serra.

Attractions

The place is also known for one of the largest cave systems in Europe, the Grotto of Castelcivita.
