Castellana Sicula

Castellana Sicula is a city in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 3489 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Castellana Sicula is located 99 km southeast of Palermo and 67 km south of Cefalù on the southern slopes of Monte San Salvatore. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and tourism.

The neighboring municipalities are Petralia Sottana, Polizzi Generosa and Villalba (CL).

History

By 1947 Castellana Sicula was a district of Petralia Sottana. Since then, the place is self-employed.
