Castellanos Department

The Departamento Castellanos is located in the west of the province of Santa Fe in the center of Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the department of San Cristóbal, on the east by the department of Las Colonias, on the south by the department of San Martín and the west by the province of Córdoba.

The capital of the department is Rafaela Castellanos.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 162 165 inhabitants (2001) to 168 984 inhabitants in 2005.
