Castello di Godego
Castello di Godego is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 28 km west-northwest of Treviso, about 12 kilometers south-east of Bassano del Grappa and directly borders the province of Padua. Through the village and the location of the Muson flows.
History
In May 972 the village was first mentioned in a document. The Bishop of Freising be paid by Otto I the possessions to Castello di Godego. According to different masters, the settlement reached in 1379 under the rule of the Venetian Republic.
Community partnerships
Castello di Godego maintains an intra- Italian partnership with the municipality in the province of Cuneo Boves and a partnership with the French community Labastide -Saint- Pierre in the Tarn- et- Garonne.
Traffic
The community is a station on the railway line Trento-Venice. The former Strada Statale 245 Castellana (now Regional Road ) also passes through the town.
