Castelvecchio Subequo
Castel Subequo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1027 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of L' Aquila in the Abruzzo region. The community is located about 37 kilometers southeast of L' Aquila on Aterno in the Regional Park Sirente - Velino and belongs to the Comunità montana Siren Tina.
History
As Superaequum the place was an important settlement of the Pelignians, an Italian, ie Osco - Umbrian people who lived in the first millennium BC here.

Castel Subequo maintains an intra- Italian partnership with the community Dorgali in the province of Nuoro.
Traffic
Passing through the municipality, the former Strada Statale 5dir Via Tiburtina Valeria (now a regional road ) from Rome to Pescara. From here, the former State Road 261 from Subequana to L' Aquila. The train station of Molina -Castel Subequo lies on the railway line from Terni to Sulmona and is located on the border with the neighboring community of Molina Aterno.
