Castiglione in Teverina

Castiglione in Teverina is a municipality with 2406 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Viterbo in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography

Castiglione is located 108 km north of Rome, 37 km north of Viterbo and 17 km south-east of Orvieto. It is the northernmost municipality of Latium in the Tiber valley. The medieval village perched on a steeply sloping hill to the valley.

The municipality consists of the villages Sermugnano and Vaiano.

The neighboring municipalities are Bagnoregio, Civitella d' Agliano, Lubriano and Orvieto ( TR).

Traffic

Castiglione is located 12 km from the entrance of Orvieto on the A1 Autostrada del Sole from Rome to Milan ( driveway locations) away. The train station of Castiglione on the railway line Rome - Florence is 4 km away at the district Sant'Egidio of Orvieto.
