Castillo de Belalcázar

The Castillo de Belalcázar (also called Castillo de Gabete ) is a castle in Belalcázar, a municipality in the province of Córdoba Autonomous Community of Andalusia (Spain ), which was built in the 15th century. The castle is a listed building since 1985 ( Bien de Interès Cultural ).

History

Gutierrez de Sotomayor, Grand Master of Alcántaraordens let build the palatial castle. It was built of hewn stone and was originally surrounded by a double ring of walls. The built on a square plan palace is dominated by the main tower. From the interior of the palace today is nothing more available,
