Castillo de San Miguel (Almuñécar)

The Castillo de San Miguel is a castle in Almuñécar, a Spanish city in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, which has its origins in the 8th century. The castle is a listed building since 1949 ( Bien de Interès Cultural ).

History

After the reconquest from the Moors in 1489, the castle was built in the 16th century. Of the former four massive round towers, three still remain. The courtyard of the castle serves as a cemetery for a long time.
