Background information

The last studio album Spectators came four years before the release of Casting Shadows. When asked why it took so long to release a new album, Peter said that she Initially did not know what they exactly want. Wolfsheim went right after the release of Spectators back to the studio where they have found that the gap was not big enough, everything was sounding like its predecessor. If they had continued to work at the time on a new album, a second part of the previous album would only be incurred. This was neither, so ended up all the tracks right after Spectators emerged in the trash. It was not until two years later (2001) when the song was not back, was both clear that s is something new.

On the question of whether there is a red thread through the album, Heppner responds that it just Mark and he had, it's just Wolfsheim and what happens when the two meet. Both for the quality as well as the content only their taste is crucial.

The first title of the album was Close Enough, many were surprised at the change in the title, in an interview Heppner later stated the Close Enough was just a working title, this has made himself the official title because he and Markus no better idea had for an album title. Due to the increased occurrence of casting shows for new musicians in the years 2000 to 2003 ( eg Germany sucht den Superstar, Fame Academy, pop stars, star search ... ), interpreted by many musicology and editor of the album title in connection therewith. The album title was created by the first track of the album Everyone Who Casts a Shadow, this work embodies for Mark and Peter, the whole LP. It is perhaps Subjectively over, but Peter said that it was their feeling just after the song in the studio was finished.
