Castino
Castino is a municipality with 501 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont.
The patron saint of the place is San Bovo.
Geography
The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Valli Langa Bormida. The municipality covers an area of 15 km ².
The neighboring municipalities are Borgomale, Bosia Cortemilia, Mango ( Piedmont), Perletto, Rocchetta Belbo, Trezzo Tinella and Vesime.
Specialty
In Castino are vines for the Dolcetto d' Alba, grown a red wine with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. The Muscat grape for the Asti Spumante, a sweet DOCG sparkling wine with a low alcohol content and for still wine Moscato d' Asti is also grown here.
