Castle of Molina de Aragón

The Castillo de Molina de Aragon is a castle in Molina de Aragón, a municipality in the province of Guadalajara of Castile -La Mancha ( Spain) Autonomous Region, which was built in the 12th century. The castle, on the brow of the hill above the town, is a protected monument.

History and Description

The previous building, an Arab fortress, has already delivered for the 10th century. 1129, the region was under Alfonso I., King of Aragon and Navarre, recaptured.

On the mountain peak stands the main tower, which is surrounded by a wall and is connected by a long wall with the rest of the castle. To use this facility, there is a fencing ring with original six towers, of which four have survived.
