Castrofilippo

Castrofilippo is a city in the province of Agrigento in the Italian region Sicily, with 2992 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Castrofilippo is located 22 km east of Agrigento. The main occupation of the inhabitants is agriculture.

Currently, the mayor's office is (Italian: sindaco ) dressed by Salvatore Ippolito. This is in his second term, which is every 4 years. The municipal council (Italian: consiglio Comunale ) of Castrofillippo consists of 15 members. The Chairman is Salvatore Graci.

The nearby towns are Canicattì, Favara, Naro and Racalmuto.

History

The town was founded in 1584 by Stefano Morreale.
