Catalina Saavedra

Catalina Saavedra Pérez ( born January 9, 1968 in Valparaíso, Chile) is a Chilean actress.

Biography

Catalina Saavedra Pérez is the daughter of the Chilean writer Omar Saavedra Santis. She studied at the Escuela de Teatro Imagen drama, where she graduated in 1987. She then studied at the Premio Nacional de Artes y de la Representación Audiovisuales de Chile and played theater. She has also studied experimental theater in Barcelona. Your screen debut in the 1994 publication and directed by Gustavo Letelier Hasta en las mejores familias on the side of Juan Pablo Bastidas and Tennyson Ferrada.

International Saavedra was for her performance the maid Raquel in Sebastián Silva's Mexican- Chilean movie drama La Nana - The Pearl at the side of Claudia Celedón and Mariana Loyola known. She has been internationally recognized by film critics and won several film awards and nominations. So she was awarded among others with a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor Award. Furthermore, she was at the Satellite Awards 2009 for Best Actress - Drama Nominated Chlotrudis Award and a Best Actress.
