Catalogue of Life

The Catalogue of Life is a project for the collection of all known species of organisms on Earth. It was launched in June 2001. The catalogs Integrated Taxonomic Information System ( ITIS) and Species to be merged in 2000. Completion is 2011. It contains as of November 2013 1.454.695 species.
