Catharine Parr Traill

Catharine Parr Traill (nee Catharine Parr Strickland, born January 9, 1802 in London, † August 29 1899 in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada) was a British- Canadian author and botanist.

After her marriage in 1832 with Thomas Traill They emigrated to Canada. Her husband, who returned as an officer of the Napoleonic Wars, was entitled to a Canadian land for settlement. They settled near Peterborough (Ontario) (Upper Canada).
