Catherine Borghi

Catherine Borghi ( born September 23, 1976 in Ormont -Dessous ) is a former Swiss ski racer. She specializes in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G.

Biography

On November 26, 1994 Borghi drove in a World Cup race for the first time. At the Junior World Championships in 1995 in Voss, she was third in the giant slalom and fifth in the slalom. World Cup points they won for the first time on 18 November 1995 as the 20th of the slalom in Vail.

Early in her career Borghi drove mainly in the technical disciplines, specializing in but then on the downhill and super -G. It was considered a great talent, but never quite managed to world class, as she was often affected by serious injury. Your best World Cup results achieved Borghi in the 2001/ 02 season, when they each was fourth on the descents of Lake Louise on 29 November 2001 and Åre on 2 February 2002.

Borghi participated in two Olympic Games and four World Championships. Your best results were twice the eighth place in the combination, at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and at the World Championships 1997 in Åre.

On 6 March 2008 Borghi announced her retirement from professional racing. Two days later they played their last World Cup race, the downhill in Crans -Montana, which she finished in 39th. The trained architectural draftsman has since worked in the family business in Les Diablerets and plans to take it over in a few years with her brother.
