Catherine Hardy Lavender

Catherine Hardy ( born February 8, 1930 in Carrollton, Georgia) is a former American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

In the XV. Summer Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, she won the team gold medal together with teammates Mae Faggs, Barbara Jones and Janet Moreau, before the team of Germany (Silver) and the team from Great Britain (bronze). It turned the crew of the U.S. also set a new world record in this discipline 45.9 seconds.
