Caudron

The Caudron Airplane Company ( pronunciation [ kɔdʁɔ ] ) ( Société des Avions Caudron ) was a French aircraft manufacturing company that was founded in 1909 by brothers Gaston Caudron ( 1882-1915 ) and René Caudron ( 1884-1959 ) in Rue.

History

Since the beginning of the First World War, the brothers made through the construction of high-performance combat aircraft a name in the aviation industry. After the war, René Caudron devoted depth of civil aviation. In 1920 the French pilot Adrienne Bolland was hired as a test pilot and got into the headlines when she with a Caudron G- III crossed the Andes in April 1921. By 1933, the success of the Caudron Airplane Company stopped. However, the group ran into financial difficulties and was bought by Louis Renault on July 1. The name was then changed to Société anonyme of avions Caudron. The company then focused only on the construction of light aircraft.
