Caué District

Caue is a district of São Tomé and Príncipe and is located on the island of São Tomé in the Gulf of Guinea off the coasts of West Africa in the Atlantic.

Geography

Caue is bordered to the west by Lemba, to the north by Mé - Zóchi and on the east by the favela and has an area of 267 km ², the largest of the seven districts. The capital is São João dos Angolares on the east coast of São Tomé with 2,322 inhabitants. Other cities in Caue are Santa Cruz ( 2,045 inhabitants), Dona Augusta, Mbombo, Nzumbi and Porto Alegre. The district, which also includes the island of Rolas, is largely covered by forest and difficult to access.
