Cauliflory

As cauliflory (also cauliflory to Greek χαυλός = stalk, stem, root and Latin flos, floris = flower, blossom ) is the non Stammblütigkeit of plants. The flowers or inflorescences occur on woody parts of plants. This also allows for heavier animals such as small mammals, pollination, and also for birds or bats, the flowers are more accessible. The then resulting fruit are often located directly on the woody trunk and thick branches to keep the sometimes heavy fruit better, while it may be that the fruits have longer stems. Kauliflore plants there are almost only in tropical plant families - the exception is the daphne, which is a relic of warmer times in the Central European flora.
