The Río Caura or Caura is a right tributary of the Orinoco River in Venezuela.

Geography

The Caura River has its origin in the extreme southwest of the state of Bolívar near the border with Brazil in the National Park Jaua - Sarisariñama [note 1] with its 2300 m high Table Mountain. Up to its confluence with the Orinoco, the waters of the Río Caura covers a distance of about 723 km. Its most important tributary is the Río Erebato, which is also very rich in water at the confluence with the Caura. At the mouth of Caura at Musinacio it has a width of 1500 m and an outflow of about 3,000 m³ / s He is after the Río Caroní the second largest tributary of the Orinoco.

The river is far to Salto Pará navigable from the Orinoco from 257 km. Near this town is one of two creeks educated waterfall, which is not particularly impressive because of its height, but because of the large water masses.
