Cavite City

Cavite City (Filipino: Lungsod ng Cavite ) is a city in the Philippine province of Cavite and their capital. The city has 101,000 inhabitants (2010) and is classified in the fourth income class. The urban area covers 12.38 km ².

Geography

Cavite City is located on a peninsula that extends like a hook in the bay of Manila, located about 35 km from the capital. The southern end of the city area - and thus the Peninsula - bordering Noveleta. The peninsula has two fingers that the Cañacao Bay and enclose in the northeast of the city area in the southeast the Bacoor Bay. At the northernmost point of the peninsula is the former U.S. Naval Station Sangley Point.
