Cayman Airways

Cayman Airways is the national airline of the Cayman Islands with headquarters in Georgetown and based on the Owen Roberts International Airport.

History

The airline was the state ( 51%) and the national airline of Costa Rica, Lacsa, (49%) established in 1968. It was founded under the name of Cayman Brac Airways and the Lacsa shares were taken over by the government in 1977. At first Douglas DC- 3s were purchased which flights were taken to Miami. Later, a Boeing 727, and bought the Boeing 737-200, and added flights to Chicago, for example, or Havana. In June 2008 and January 2009, the Boeing 737-200 were replaced by two more aircraft series -300. The older aircraft series -200 left the fleet and waited with as of July 2010 parked in Marana, Arizona on a future users.

Destinations

Cayman Airways flies from its base, the Owen Roberts International Airport, inland islands Cayman Brac and Little Cayman in the Caribbean area and also Havana, Kingston and Montego Bay. More destinations in the U.S. Chicago, Miami, New York, Orlando and Tampa and La Ceiba in Honduras.
