The vehicles of the ČD - 814 series are low-floor DMUs of the Czech railway company České Railways ( ČD ) for regional services. They were created as part of a reconstruction program of the vehicles of the ČD - series 810 Of the ČD they are marketed as " Regionova ".

History

In 2005, emerged as a further development of the prototype 812 613 from two railcars of class 810 and two sidecar series 010 with PARS nova in Šumperk the advance vehicles, which have since been tested in practical use under real operating conditions on different routes of České Railways. In contrast to the prototype Esmeralda the unit consists of a railcar with the series designation 814, and a control car with the series designation 914, which are kurzgekuppelt together.

The use of the vehicle is the result primarily energy savings, greater traction speed, thereby streamlining the schedules. At the international car fair in Brno in October 2005, the unit was awarded the gold medal of the organizer. Their performance was the vehicles, among others even when tests prove on the steep section Tanvald - Kořenov.

In addition to the ČD and the private railway transport companies Železnice Desna acquired a unit.

Series 814.2

A further development of the series is the 814.0 814.2 series. The railcar is instead equipped with a motor vehicle and a control car, with two motor cars and a center car. The three -car trains have 127 seats rather than in the two-part carriage 76 seats. Railcars of Class 814.2 are in use since 2007.

Technical Features

Significant changes compared to the original design are a new, more powerful propulsion system with diesel engine LIAZ ML 640 SE and a hydromechanical transmission VOITH DIWA 864.3E, a comfortable interior with disabled toilet, better working conditions for drivers, better handling and reduced environmental impact of the power plant. The Regionova are still equipped with screw coupling and thus freely coupled with other vehicles.

In the control car, which owns 50% low-floor area, is home to the load compartment, an access ramp for wheelchairs, toilet seats and 34. The railcar, built in the normal ground level, has passenger compartments with 50 seats.
