CD Oro

The Club Deportivo Oro de Jalisco is a Mexican football club that was founded in 1923 by some jewelers in the district Oblatos to the second largest Mexican city of Guadalajara.

Oro was taken in the second year of the existence of the professional league (1944 /45) in the same and played there until the descent of the sporting season 1979 /80.

The club changed its name since its inception as " Oro " (Gold ) until he fell into serious financial difficulties in 1970 and was adopted by some local sugar factory. These named the club in Club Social y Deportivo Jalisco (name of the state, whose capital is Guadalajara ) and decided on a cock as a mascot. With the ( futile ) goal of the club to make it appear closer to the people and to give it by a higher popularity, he received in 1976 the addition of Club del Pueblo. Later, the two terms were merged and the club subsequently traded as Oro Oro de Jalisco Jalisco respectively.

In the early sixties, the Club Deportivo Guadalajara dominated (more) and Oro ( less) the Mexican League and made three times champion and runner among themselves. Here Chivas twice- front (1961 and 1965 ), but once located Oro was able to prevail and post the only league title in their history: before the last game of the season 1962/63 had Oro with one point behind the then -powerful city rivals and series champion on the second located place. At the last game these two teams met each other and Oro won this game - and thus the championship - with a goal of the Brazilian " Necco " in the 87th minute.

Since the descent from 1980 Oro de Jalisco was not top notch. 1984 took the team to the final table of the second division in second place - and had left to climb the master CD Zacatepec. The CD Oro de Jalisco remained henceforth in the second division and gradually slipped deeper and deeper. After the division of the Mexican Segunda División in 2008 plays Oro de Jalisco in the newly established third-rate " Liga de Nuevos talento de la Segunda División ."
