CD Puertollano

The Club Deportivo Puertollano is a Spanish football club from the city of Puertollano, Castile -La Mancha. The club was founded in 1948 playing in the 2010/11 season in the Segunda División B, Group 4

History

The club was founded in 1948 under the name of CF Calvo Sotelo, after Empresa Nacional Calvo Sotelo ( Encaso ), a petrochemical state-owned company based in Puertollano, which included the club. In the season 1950/51 they played for the first time in the Tercera División, where you remained for ten years, until 1965/65 finally moved into the Segunda División. In 1971, the club went into the then third-rate Tercera División to twice later return to the Segunda División for three seasons (1975 ) and for a (1984). In the 1988/89 season the club was renamed in Puertollano Industrial CF. The systems of Encaso belonged now to Repsol. After this season we got out of the Tercera División in the regional league system from, but from in the season 1989/90 achieved the immediate resurgence. 1999 merged with the Puertollano Industrial playing in the regional system FC Puertollano and adopted the name Unión Deportiva Puertollano.

After the rise in the 2005/06 season the club played in the group of third-rate Segunda División 4 B. In the 2009/10 season the club played in the Segunda B - 2 to 2010/11 season, the club was called again to group and has since been trading under the name Club Deportivo Puertollano.

CD Puertollano plays at the Estadio Francisco Sánchez Menor, which has a capacity of 8,000 spectators.
