Cearadactylus is a genus of short-tailed pterosaurs from the Lower Cretaceous of Brazil. The genus with the only kind ( type species ) Cearadactylus atrox is the only known representative of the Cearadactylidae. Their fossils have been handed down from about 110 to 100 million year old sedimentary rocks of the Santana Formation in the state of Ceará. What has been described Cearadactylus 1985 by the paleontologist G. Leonardi and G. Borgomanero. The genus name is derived from the name of the state and the Greek dactylos - "fingers" together. The only known fossil is a 57 -centimeter-long skull with a fully connected jaw. The systematic position of the Cearadactylidae, and thus of Cearadactylus is not released.
