CeCILL (CEA CNRS INRIA Logiciel Libre ) is one with the GNU General Public License French compatible free software license. The name is composed of the abbreviations of the research institutions involved with the suffix " Logiciel Libre ", the French word for free software.

The CeCILL was developed by the three research institutions

• Commissariat à l' énergie Atomique (CEA )
• Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS )
• Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique ( INRIA )
