Cedarville is a village of 3,828 inhabitants ( 2000) in Greene County, Ohio, United States. The town lies on the railway line from Cincinnati and Columbus ( Ohio). The Massie Creek flows through the village.
The town was founded in 1801 by John and Thomas Townsley. The place was first called Milford, but was renamed in Cedarville because of confusion with Milford (Ohio ).
Cedarville is the seat of private evangelical Cedarville University.
