Cederberg Local Municipality

Cederberg is a municipality in the district of West Coast, Western Cape Province in South Africa. In 2001, the population was 39,326 in a total area of 7347 km ². The administrative center is Clanwilliam.

The community was named after the Afrikaans word for "Cedar Mountain". There is here in the mountains cedars, from whose wood in previous years, furniture and other household appliances were manufactured. The wood contains oil that protects against vermin feeding. These cedars are now under protection.
