Celithemis

The Generotyp Celithemis Eponina

Celithemis is a string of eight kinds of dragonflies genus. The genus belongs to the subfamily Leucorrhininae and was described in 1861 by Hermann August Hagen. As Generotyp served a previously designated as Libellula Eponina dragonfly. The distribution area extends from southeastern Canada through the eastern United States to Cuba and the Bahamas.

Features

Celithemis species are small to medium sized dragonflies and reach lengths of 26-43 mm. The blue, or black abdomen (abdomen) has yellow or red patches in some species. The Pterothorax, the part of the chest (thorax ) at the start the wings is reddish with black stripes or entirely black. In particular, your hind wings are strongly broadened. In addition, they usually have a brown or orange patterns.
