Cell adhesion

Under cell adhesion cell biology understands the contacts between cells or with an extracellular matrix. These can be present in a tissue or in an aggregation association that takes place through active cooperation of single cells or hiking through passive colliding and sticking together of cells and cell clumps in suspension cultures.

Cells adhere to substrates except also on biofilms. Molecules that make the cell adhesion possible are called cell adhesion molecules.
