Cell Broadcast

Cell broadcast or Cell Broadcasting ( CB short ) is a mobile service for sending text messages.

In contrast to normal text, in which the message is addressed only to a particular mobile phone, a broadcast message is sent from the base station ( the transmitter mast ) to all phones that have this service activated and be in the same radio cell.

A broadcast message can be up to 93 characters long, but since you can string together several messages even longer texts can be transferred. The user sees the CB messages either on demand or as so-called " automatic display " in the form of a marquee in the home screen. The reception of CB is free.
