Cenk Ä°ldem

Cenk Ildem ( born January 5, 1986 in Şişli, Istanbul Province) is a Turkish wrestler. He won one bronze medal in Greco-Roman light heavyweight at the 2010 European Championships and the World Cup 2011.

Career

Cenk Ildem began as a teenager in Şişli in 1996 with the rings. His coach is since that time his father Huseyin Ildem, himself a former wrestler. Now he belongs to the Sports Club Buyuksehyr Belediyespor Istanbul. It focuses on the Greco-Roman style wrestling and light heavyweight. Cenk Ildem attended a University and is a teacher.

His international career began wrestler in May 2005, when he finished in 8th place in the middleweight division at the Junior World Championship in Vilnius. Just one month later, he was then in Wroclaw Junior European champion at middleweight against Adlan Bisojew, Russia, Jan Fischer, Germany and Timofei Dseinitschenko, Belarus. Aussergeöhnlich successful he was in 2006, because he was first in Szombathely European junior champion before Artur Schalinjan, Armenia and in Guatemala City and Junior World Champion before Jan Fischer, Dawit Karchawa, Georgia and Oleg Schokalow, Russia, each at middleweight.

In the senior Cenk Ildem needed some lead time to get there too successes. In April 2010, he was then employed at the European Championships 2010 in Baku in the light heavyweight division. He came there to victories over Bentsion Chundaschwili of Georgia, Dimitri Timchenko from Ukraine and David Vala from the Czech Republic. The next start at an international championship took place at the European Championship 2011 in Dortmund. He came there to victories over Sinisa Hogac, Croatia and Frederik Schoen from Sweden and then succumbed to the naturalized in Bulgaria Albanians Elis Guri. At the Olympic Games in London Cenk Ildem but had no luck of the draw. He lost both fights, which he denied, first against Ghasem Rezaei, Iran, the future Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan and against, Armenia, the future Olympic bronze medalists, no longer belonged to and finished only 11th place.

However, a medal he won again at the European Championships in 2013 in Tbilisi. He defeated on the way to this success Villius Laurinaitis, Lithuania and Nikita Melnikov, Russia, lost to Artur Aleksanyan and still won after about Soso Jabidse, Georgia and Shalva Gadabadse, Azerbaijan.
