Censeau

Censeau is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Censeau is located at 830 m above sea level. M., about 14 km northeast of the city Champagnole (air line). The scattered village extends in the Jura, on the vast plateau that connects north to the Val de Mièges, in the headwaters of the Serpentine.

History

Is first mentioned in the 14th century Censeau. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Nozeroy. Together with the Franche -Comté it came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France.
