Censorinus (usurper)

Censorinus was one of the so-called Thirty Tyrants in the Historia Augusta and alleged anti-emperor Claudius Gothicus ( 268-270 ). He is not historically.

The late antique and very controversial Historia Augusta According Censorinus was a veteran of the Persian campaign of Valerian, proclaimed emperor by his soldiers, but killed a little later because of too strict disciplinary regiment. His grave is said to have been in Bologna, which could be interpreted as an indication of the location of the survey. Of the numerous the Censorinus ascribed offices, including two consulates, none is historically verifiable; it is more like an official career in the late 4th century and is an important testament to the fiction of the Vita in the Historia Augusta. Nor are known coins of the usurper.
