The Central Bank of Luxembourg (French Banque Centrale du Luxembourg ) is the central bank of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The bank was established on 23 December 1998 by Act of 22 April 1998 and had until the introduction of the euro, the Luxembourg monopoly on the issue of banknotes. So you took over the tasks of the Institute was founded in 1983 Monétaire Luxembourgeois (IML ).

In 1999, the BCL was part of the European Central Bank.
