Central Bank of Tunisia

The Banque Centrale de Tunisie is the central bank of Tunisia. The bank is located in Tunis, their governor is Taoufik Baccar.

History

The Tunisian Central Bank was founded two years after the independence of the state. On September 19, 1958, the Law No. 58-90 on the establishment and organization of the BCT was put into force. On October 18, in turn, the Act No. 58-109 was placed on the introduction of the Tunisian Dinar and replacement of the Tunisian Francs into force. The two laws were effective from November 3.

Today, the BCT has twelve subsidiary banks.
