Central Darling Shire

Central Darling is low in the west of the country about 960 km from the city of Sydney. The area includes 57 districts and towns, including Ivanhoe, Menindee, White Cliffs and Wilcannia. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the town of Wilcannia in the center of the LGA, where nearly 600 inhabitants.

The Shire is the largest LGA in New South Wales, there are only three LGAs with less inhabitants.

Management

The Central Darling Shire Council has twelve members who are elected by the residents of three wards (four each Councillor of A, B and C. Ward). These three districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.

Since November 20, 2006, only three of the four C Ward Councillor of the members of the Council so that the Council until the next election in the fall of 2008, only eleven members.
