Central Norway

Midt- Norge ( nynorsk Midt- Noreg on German Central Norway Central Norway or ) is a designation for a region of Norway in Sør -Norge. Midt -Norge is not a well-defined geographical area in Norway and has no formal status as an administrative region and is not a part of the country. It covers the areas of the remaining Fylken of North and Sør- Trøndelag, both of which belong to the five Norwegian parts of the country. Also include the Fylke More og Romsdal and the region of North Østerdalen as well as the landscape of the Helgeland Fylke Nordland.

Within Central Norway there are a lot of linguistic similarities in appropriate dialects and also on cultural-geographic basis. Likewise, there are such similarities in part with Nordmøre of Fylke Møre og Romsdal and Romsdal as part of Midt- Norge, while Sunnmøre and Romsdal partially connected as in this respect closer with Vestlandet.

The Fylken Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal and Nordland south of Bodø, as well as with the local North Gubrandsdal and North Østerdal be considered to belong to Midt -Norge at the state level. Midt -Norge has about just over 650,000 inhabitants with the Trondheim metropolitan area with 260,000 inhabitants, which is the regional center also at the same time as well as the fourth largest city in Norway.

Various Norwegian authorities, institutions and organizations, as well as some companies have partly dissenting different definitions for the scope of the region Midt -Norge. Some Norwegian institutions such as the Helse Midt- Norge ( health awareness Authority Central Norway ); Frostating lagdømme ( Court of Appeal ); Skatteetaten or Skatt Midt -Norge ( Norwegian Tax Authority Central Norway ); Utlendingsdirektoratet ( Immigration Department ), have integrity ring -og mangfoldsdirektoratet ( Integration and Equality Authority ); Arbeidstilsynet (labor inspectors ); Kystverket ( Fisheries Officer ); and the Statens Public Roads Administration ( Highway Authority ) include Nord-Trøndelag, Sør -Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal region to Midt -Norge and have staked their field of activity corresponding thereto. Norges vassdrags -og energidirektorat ( NVE, Norwegian Water and Energy Administration) one turn to Midt- Norge: Helgeland, Trøndelag and Nordmøre.

The regional newspaper Adresseavisen turn defines Midt- Norge Trøndelag and Nordmøre with a total of five municipalities in North Østerdalen including the southern Fylken of Nordland and the associated coverage areas of the newspaper were accrued to it.

The Fylken Trandelags but are understood by all as the most important main part of Midt -Norge. In the East, whose Fylke bordering Sweden and the Dovre mountain plateau forms a natural border of Midt- Norge, as well as between northern and southern Norway. The coast to the north of Midt -Norge is surrounded by numerous rugged cliffs, fjords and many islands. To the west it borders on the Trondheim fjord, with 130 km long inland from Ørland to Steinkjer, the administrative center of Nord-Trøndelag.
