The Central Stadium (Russian Центральный стадион ) is a football stadium in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg. It currently accommodates 27,000 spectators and is used by the club Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast as homestead. Yekaterinburg also serves as a venue for the Football World Cup 2018 in Russia.

History

The stadium was opened in 1957 and served as the venue for four Winterspartakiaden the USSR Speed ​​Skating Women's World Cup 1959 and other events. Since 2006, the stadium was reconstructed. The grand re-opening after the renovation took place on 19 August 2011.
