The Central Stadium (Russian Центральный стадион ) is a football stadium in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg. It currently accommodates 27,000 spectators and is used by the club Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast as homestead. Yekaterinburg also serves as a venue for the Football World Cup 2018 in Russia.
History
The stadium was opened in 1957 and served as the venue for four Winterspartakiaden the USSR Speed Skating Women's World Cup 1959 and other events. Since 2006, the stadium was reconstructed. The grand re-opening after the renovation took place on 19 August 2011.
