Centre Democrats (Netherlands)

The Centrum Democraten (CD ) was a Dutch political party. The extreme right-wing, xenophobic party was founded in 1984 as a splinter of Centrumpartij. She had received one to three seats in Parliament (Second Chamber) 1989-1998.

Political leader of the party was the Social Studies teacher Hans Janmaat who sat since 1982 for the Centrumpartij and 1984-1986 as an independent in Parliament. In the local elections in 1990 the party won eleven seats in 1994 even 77 After the success in the election to the Lower House in 1994 with three seats, the party quickly fell apart due to internal disputes. In the European elections in 1999 it reached only 0.5 percent.

Removal of the CD was the Burgerpartij Nederland. The CD itself is inactive but not officially disbanded.
