Centre Pierre-Charbonneau

The Centre Pierre- Charbonneau is an entertainment venue in Montreal, which is used for sports and cultural events. It is located in the arrondissement of Mercier - Hochelaga -Maisonneuve on the Boulevard Viau and is part of the Olympic Park. The hall has a capacity of 2000 spectators.

The hall was built in 1957 as a community center and initially was known as the Complexe sportif Maisonneuve. Later it was used for several years as part of a police school. During the Summer Olympics in 1976, the hall was the venue of the Ringer competitions, with the exception of the final round in freestyle wrestling. In March 1976 it was in honor of Pierre Charbonneau, the recently deceased Vice- President of the Organizing Committee of the Summer Games, renamed.

Between 2005 and 2009, the Centre Pierre Charbonneau, was the venue of two basketball teams, the Montreal matrix in the American Basketball Association and the Montreal Sasquatch in the Premier Basketball League. Today the hall is used as a recreational sport center as well as a convention and exhibition hall.
